BARKLY SQUARE

For the Barkly Square Shopping Centre in Melbourne, I led the team in preparing tender documentation for a Design and Construct contract. Following novation, I conducted regular site inspections, responded to the builder’s RFIs, and ensured that the design intent was maintained throughout construction. After practical completion, I prepared comprehensive As-Built documentation to finalise the project. I also produced tenancy leasing plans and tenant design guidelines.

A key aspect of this project was addressing the separation between two parts of the centre divided by a laneway. With council approval, we designed a permanent roof structure over the laneway, creating a seamless connection between the areas while also establishing a vibrant external dining space. This solution successfully enhanced the centre’s functionality and customer experience.
